Social Listening: Tillamook- Ice cream

    Honestly, I may have an addiction...Tillamook ICE CREAM!!  Based in Tillamook Oregon, the Tillamook Creamery provides a self-guided tour where visitors can gain information about cheese making, the dairy industry, and most importantly ice cream.  Tillamook is well known for its high-quality and tasty products.

    Quality over profit, natural ingredients, and community well-being are some of Tillamook's values.  They prioritize quality above profit which ensures that their products are made without cutting corners.  Tillamook believes that natural always beats artificial and by sourcing the highest quality ingredients creates downright delicious products.  As a familial-owned company, Tillamook invests in supporting its community with its products, youth development, and protecting local farmland and farmers to ensure future generations.  Tillamook's value proposition is centered around a commitment to quality, natural ingredients, and overall well-being.

    On Instagram, I found comments of questions and praises.  From what I saw, Tillamook has a large and happy community of customers.  I noticed countless compliments and rarely encountered a negative review.  One thing I noticed was that Tillamook's media team is extremely active and responsive towards its customers.  In the above screenshots, I show examples of questions being answered and compliments acknowledged.  Tillamook's active responsiveness keeps customers involved and expresses its dedication to its customers. Tillamook's amazing media team helps ensure the high quality of its products and improves customer engagement and commitment to its community.  


    Recently, Tillamook launched a new chocolate ice cream collection.  It includes Tillamook brownie batter, German chocolate cake, dark chocolate cookies & cream, and chocolate hazelnut.  By partnering with social media chefs, Tillamook provides ingredients to a step-by-step cooking video that promotes new products and its high-quality ingredients.  

    Tillamook's marketing illustrates a friendly and responsive relationship with its customers.  Part of its social media strategy is to market to children by creating product reviews with kids taste-testing products such as mac & cheese or pizza.  By engaging customers with enjoyable cooking or taste test videos, Tillamook is exercising strategies talked about in Chapters 4 & 6 of "The New Rules of Marketing & PR" by David Scott.  In those chapters, David Scott taught about social media expertise, responsiveness, and urgency.  Tillamook shows a high-level media team with agility, proficiency, and skillfulness.  

    The Tillamook Instagram posts about every day.  These posts vary from cooking videos to new product launches.  If I were the brand manager for Tillamook, I would incorporate more media promotions that engage customers with contests or giveaways.

    Throughout this assignment, I learned many important aspects of effective media and marketing.   By prioritizing high quality, Tillamook markets the quality to its customers.  The responsiveness, proficiency, and respectfulness of Tillamook's media team display how much they value their customers.  Overall, this assignment has made me appreciate Tillamook's dedication towards its products and customers.
